The Younger Gods were humans with a strong Nephilite strain affected by the GodWave 19,500 years before the common era and their descendants. They were taller then most humans and had both great physical strength and a strong connection to the Source. Most of them believed that they existed to be worshiped by normal humans, although a few were willing to be on the side of humanity.
On occasion, Younger Gods would mate with humans and related beings such as elves and dwarves, producing demigods. Demigods usually inherited a fraction of their supernatural parents' abilities and usually dwelt among normal humans, becoming powerful kings and heroes. Some of them were responsible for creating the civilizations of Atlantis and Lemuria.
In 9600 BCE, the Younger Gods formed two factions, which went to war with each other. One side, the Lords of Law, favored order and justice while the other side, the Lords of Chaos, favored freedom and anarchy. The conflict caused the event known as the Great Cataclysm, forever changing Earth's geography. The Elder Council responded by expelling the vast majority of Younger Gods from Earth. Many of them established homes for themselves in the Otherworld, including Asgard, Mount Olympus, and Heliopolis.
Most Younger Gods have since joined the side of the Elder Council in the Elder Council-Archdevils conflict, believing that they have a duty to protect their mortal cousins on Earth. Many have been very helpful in establishing civilizations and inspiring people to become great heroes.
